Gothic Architecture

Maniera tedesca which translates to the German style. This was a term coined by Italian Renaissance architect Giorgio Vasari when describing a style of architecture that would later develop into the term Gothic architecture.

I see Gothic architecture as a combination of different geometric symbols mixing and twisting to create one unique shape. Of course, most people see a church with religious iconography, both are true.

I wanted to create a collection based on the statistic that the majority of people diagnosed with dyslexia work in creative fields such as architecture

I wanted to relate how I see symbols due to my disability to how I see and understand architecture and transfer that to a fashion collection. With my knowledge of how knitting uses different stitches to mimic different geometric shapes, I  can relate that to create something reminiscent of the geometry in Gothic architecture.
